This dataset contains Kuopio city bike-sharing system (BSS) aka [Vilkku-fillarit](https://kaupunkipyorat.kuopio.fi/) trips for years 2019-2022. Kuopio is a city of about 122 000 residents (2023) located in Eastern Finland. Kuopio's BSS is the first electric BSS in Finland starting in May 2019. Kuopio BSS is a 4th generation hybrid BSS delivered by Czech FREEBIKE s.r.o. company. Hybrid BSS means that it's mainly (virtual) station based, but it's possible to leave bikes outside stations in a limited area. Electric bikes are pedal assisted type and can be used without assist. User needs to register and buy a pass before using bike. There are various time-limited passes and it's also possible to pay per-minute. Vilkku-fillari BSS has been [quite successful](https://yle.fi/a/3-12100139) right from the beginning. Total operational bike count has been raised from 150 to 350 by the year 2022 (there are 20 bikes in reserve all the time) and active station count has raised from 20 to 41. This dataset is not the original received from Kuopio city employees, but an edited version. All the rental rows are included from the original data, but some less important columns are excluded and some new columns are created. This edited dataset has e.g. additional columns for easier exploration and categorization of data. User identification columns are excluded to anonymize the data. Using this dataset may require additional cleaning and filtering. At least "Service rental" rows should almost always be excluded from analysis. There is also *Vilkku-fillari_eBike_Stations_2019-2022.csv* dataset that contains basic information for all the normal stations for years 2019-2022. There have been 42 normal stations in operation during that time. One of those 42 stations is replaced by another (MICROTEKNIA->SAVILAHTI) for season 2022 and one (KUOPIOROCK) is operational for only couple of days during summer. Besides normal stations there have been couple of "testing stations" in the dataset. These datasets were created in Savonia UAS's [Green Data Future Solutions](https://greendata.savonia.fi/) project where we made analysis and visualization of this data for Kuopio city employees and residents. One of the shared results is [Fillaridata](https://fillaridata.savonia.fi/) site.
