I am currently working as a university lecturer in the field of guidance at the University of Eastern Finland. My recent research concerns the principle of 'the whole school approach' to guidance from the perspective of general upper secondary school subject teachers and asks for possibilities for teachers to participate in guidance as service providers. My permanent position has been a guidance counsellor in a general upper secondary school since the year 2000. Additionally, I have been working as a coordinator of guidance counselling in general upper secondary schools for around five years. During the school year 2024-25, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oulu. My dissertation titled 'Lukion keskeyttämisen äärellä: Subjektitieteellisen psykologian näkökulma toimijuuden tukemiseen ohjauksessa' ('On the verge of early school leaving: Subject-scientific perspective on supporting agency in general upper secondary school guidance') was published in December 2023. Based on my dissertation as well as my working experience, I give lectures on guidance as a duty of every professional working in the school.
