I received my doctorate in 2014 from Univ. of Jyväskylä where I am affiliated as a University researcher in the Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE AgeCare, 2018-25). My permanent position is as a Senior Lecturer of Social and Public Policy at the University of Eastern Finland, where I'm the director of the Research Consortium ‘Al-driven platform care: Promoting equal and inclusive job quality in long-term care’ JPI/MYBL 2025-28) and the project 'Formations of Hybrid Manhood in the Experience Economy' (Kone Foundation, 2021-25). Before this, I served as the vice-director of the project 'Lean Production in Public Services: New formations of work and gender in biocapitalism' (Research Council of Finland, 2018-22). In the past, I have also worked in the following projects: 'Impact of local welfare systems on female labour force participation and social cohesion' (2011-2014 FP7); 'Violence, Professional Practices and Occupational Health in Social and Health Care Sector' (2011-13 Emil Aaltonen Foundation); and 'Encountering Violence in Social and Health Care Organizations' (2011-14 Research Council of Finland). My research interests include welfare services and policies, welfare state restructuration, care professions and organisations, feminist theory, gendered workplace relations, and digitalisation of work. My dissertation dealt with welfare state transformation from the point of view of front-line workers in health and social care services.
