Kinetic Modeling of Hematite Reduction by Hydrogen Plasma Smelting Reduction in Laboratory-Scale

Kuvaus

The measurements were made at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials, Düsseldorf (then Max Planck Institute for Iron Research) in collaboration with the University of Oulu, Finland. The objective of the study was to develop a plasma–metal–slag kinetic model for the reduction of hematite under hydrogen plasma smelting reduction conditions. The long-term goal is to provide a predictive modeling tool that supports the development of hydrogen plasma steelmaking processes. The details of the kinetic model, governing equations, and experimental validation are described in the publication (doi:10.1088/1742-6596/3050/1/012007). The dataset comprises videos (.mov), and experimental laboratory data in Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx) NOTE: Only metadata is published. The data is available upon request from the authors.
