Data from: Genetic basis of local adaptation and flowering time variation in Arabidopsis lyrata

Kuvaus

This dataset contains data and analysis scripts (R) for QTL mapping of genomic regions underlying adaptive differentiation in fitness and flowering time in natural plant populations. Data includes measurements of phenotypes in natural conditions where experimental plants (Arabidopsis lyrata) were grown in reciprocal transplant experiments in Norway and in North Carolina, USA. Each site included plants with both geographic origins, as well as experimental hybrids (F1 and F2 generations). We also grew plants in the greenhouse at the University of Oulu in a common garden setting. Over several growing seasons, performance of the experimental plants was estimated by counting inflorescences, flowers, seed capsules and number of seeds. Date of opening of the first flower was also recorded and vegetative size was measured. This phenotypic data was then combined with the genotype data to perform QTL mapping that allowed discovering of genomic regions associated with fitness and flowering time in the wild and in the greenhouse. Zip-files contain both phenotypic and genotypic data from the separate field sites (NC=North Carolina), Nor(Norway) and greenhouse (GH). Explanations of variables can be found in the corresponding readme-files.
