PPGIS dataset on perceived environmental changes in two communities in Northern Fennoscandia

The dataset contains .csv files of answers to one online Public Participation Geographical Information Systems (PPGIS) survey and a Read me file as a .pdf. The data contains survey answers to structured and open-ended questions as well as answers in a form of map markings with a corresponding x- and y-coordinates that can be utilized and analysed in a geographical information system software. The dataset was collected from two communities using a Maptionnaire online mapping survey platform. The data has been anonymized. Data of the Finnish case study community, Savukoski: Survey respondents are residents and people familiar with the Savukoski municipality in Finland (respondents include people with various livelihoods and relationship to the local environment); dataset collected during February-May 2022; in total 107 respondents. 78 respondents answered the PPGIS survey online by themselves without any facilitation from researcher. In addition, there were two phone interviews, where the respondents filled in the PPGIS survey with the researcher and 27 face-to-face interviews where the respondents filled in the PPGIS survey with the researcher. In total this mounts to the 107 respondents. Data of the Swedish case study community, Jokkmokk: Survey respondents are residents and people familiar with the Jokkmokk municipality in Sweden (respondents include people with various livelihoods and relationship to the local environment); dataset collected during May-September 2022; in total 87 respondents. All the 87 respondents answered the PPGIS survey online by themselves without facilitation from researcher.
