Implications of peat soil conceptualization for groundwater exfiltration in numerical modeling: A study on a hypothetical peatland hillslope – Simulation database

Kuvaus

The dataset contains inputs and results of HydroGeoSphere simulations that are the basis of the publication “Implications of peat soil conceptualization for groundwater exfiltration in numerical modeling: A study on a hypothetical peatland hillslope" by A. Autio, P. Ala-Aho, A.-K. Ronkanen, P. M. Rossi, and B. Kløve published in Water Resource Research (doi: 10.1029/2019WR026203). Each conceptual model scenario data is located in a separate subfolder. To reduce the amount of memory needed to store the data, HydroGeoSphere results were transformed to tecplot binary file extension *.plt. The original HGS output data files and Matlab files used to generate figures are available from the corresponding author (Anna Autio: anna.autio@oulu.fi) upon a request. The subfolders are named according to the following scheme: #geometry_bc_#_mslope_#(_pslope_#)_#soil_#suffix -#geometry - peat layer geometry type (base_case = no peat; uniform; log=logarythmic; mesisuo = case study) -bc_# - groundwater head at the left boundary condition -mslope_# - slope of mineral zone in percent (mild = 3% and steep 10% ) -pslope_# - slope of peat zone in percent (optional value, used to investigate various slope ratios ) -#soil - type of mineral soil (sand or till) -#suffix - model with other changes -peat hydraulic conductivity peat0.01K = 100-fold decrease in peat soil hydraulic conductivity peat0.1K = 10-fold decrease in peat soil hydraulic conductivity peat10K = 10-fold increase in peat soil hydraulic conductivity peat10K = 10-fold increase in peat soil hydraulic conductivity -vertical discretization dy_05 - dy = 0.05 cm dy_20 - dy = 20 cm cont - continues vertical discretization File Extra_table.xlsx contains a summary of conceptual models (CMs) for various peat hydraulic conductivity scenarios and peat and mineral soil ratios.
