Hydrology of Seasonally Frozen Ground - Systematic Review Database

GENERAL DESCRIPTION The dataset compliles information from publications that study hydrology of seasonally frozen ground (SFG). The dataset is useful for systematic exploration of hydrological influence of SFG. It comprises a list of studies published on the topic by 2018. The dataset is the basis of publication "Soil Freeze! Is water flow arrested?" in published in Reviews of Geophysics. Full details of the review procedure are provided in the publication. DATASET CONTENT The most important information each publication was reviewed for is: does the frozen state of ground influence hydrological fluxes? In the dataset we categorized the hydrological influence to four classes: EVIDENT, OCCASIONAL, UNCERTAIN, and ABSENT. In addition to the primary conclusion, the dataset reports the study setup, site conditions, environmental conditions, and other hydrologically relevant factors for each published and reviewed study.
